Description

My very first time going on the ORD Airport Watch airfield tour at Chicago O'Hare International Airport. We started off at northeast cargo to get some shots of the China Airlines Cargo and Atlas Air 747s parked, along with an Atlas Air 744 close up taxi. After that, we drove by the former American Airlines Flight 383 Boeing 767-300(ER) which has been sitting there since 2016. This passenger flight suffered an engine fire during takeoff on its way to Miami. The plane continues to sit there and fall apart as Chicago's climate eats away at it. On the way to the south end of the airport, we saw a coyote walking not far from the taxiway which was pretty neat to spot. When we finally got to the south end of the airport, we had some amazing touchdown shots and reverse thrust for the next couple hours. Quite a bit of action as all the afternoon heavies plus additional interesting flights and liveries came south to runway 10C. The only downside was I had to cut parts of the clips due to the occasional large vehicle passing by. Check out the super hard Atlas Air landing at 8:26 and the Volaris A320 neo nicknamed "The Goat" at 18:29. The tour concluded with a nice drive by Terminal 5 where we got to see a variety of carriers parked at their gates. I really enjoyed this tour, especially the mild late season weather and variety of action we got on 10C that afternoon. Huge thanks to the CDA and ORD Airport Watch for making this event possible.
