(4K) Rockford Airfield Tour 2024 Day 2

Welcome to the second day of the annual ORD Airport Watch Chicago Rockford International Airport airfield tour. This is a tour that takes place the week before Christmas, as RFD Airport is at its peak with cargo traffic. There's tons of UPS flights, along with Amazon Air, ABX Air, Air Transport International, Allegiant Air, and others. Today started off with some de icing shots of the Samaritan's Purse DC-8, followed by a great-sounding takeoff a bit later. Allegiant brought in the Winter the Dolphin Livery A320 and a brand new 737 MAX 8 (N813NV) that was less than a month old at the time of filming this video! The snow added some nice lighting as the skies cleared to a crisp blue allowing for fantastic video footage. I got a nice video of Maersk Air Cargo landing, blowing snow, wheel well shots, and engine close ups. The ABX Air that arrived had its paint quite worn towards the back of the plane. I got some nice overhead & landing videos of a few heavy aircraft arriving, along with a couple departures where the jetblast blew snow towards us. Later, we saw some L-39s (really like the Blue Angels paint scheme) and an MD-80 that has been sitting at RFD for over 17 years and has an interior worth over 2 million dollars! The ABX Air (N767AX) B767-200F going to Houston is around 42 years old and still flying strong! Towards the end of the tour, we got a rapid rush of UPS departures going one after another. So much action occurred as pilots waved when they taxiied by, Maersk started its engines, and flights took off one by one on runway 1.
